"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." -- JP Curran, 1790

A Liberal Supermajority

Not since 1966, and before that 1933 have we experienced such a devastating occurrence, filibuster proof liberals running the purse, the White House, and the courts!

This wall street journal article illustrates the point that Americans need to know what they are getting. Those of you who just "don't care" about this election cycle better pull your heads out and focus on your House and Senate elections, as well! If we do fail and McCain loses this Presidential election, we'd better hope and pray that we have a Conservative House to get this budget under control (Conservative doesn't always mean Republican, and we need to make sure we're getting the right types of Republicans in office, as well).

For those of you who do not understand the intricacies of the Congress, let put it in some common sense terms. The 435 member House controls the money. Always has, always will. The President can never just make the Congress create a budget that he wants; there is some wheeling and dealing that usually takes place long before we see the final version of a budget. The House needs the Senate to concur before a bill can be presented to the President. With a "supermajority" (2/3), a filibuster can be overruled, Presidential vetoes can be overruled, and the party in that powerful situation can do anything, unchecked. Sphere: Related Content

I believe in the 1st Amendment. Say whatever you want. If you're a moron, I may point that out...if I have time. :P
