"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." -- JP Curran, 1790

Sen. Reid, the Constitution, the Constitution, Sen. Reid

There, now we have an official introduction. Both are aware of the other's existence, and the former should be well aware that he serves the latter, not the other way around.

We now see reports that the Democrats will actually seat Senator Burris. Well, thanks a million guys! Sen. Reid, you are a true gentlemen, by allowing to have Burris join you as a colleague, despite the clear and obvious fact that you can do "whatever [you] want to do." Pesky issues like the 17th Amendment, and the fact that turning away a Senator from taking the floor vote is, in and of itself, a Constitutional crime, shouldn't get in your way! It's not the law, but rather your own good graces that make government work.

Hubris, meet Sen. Reid...Oh, you two already know each other?! Wow! Who would have guessed?

I believe in the 1st Amendment. Say whatever you want. If you're a moron, I may point that out...if I have time. :P
