"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." -- JP Curran, 1790

Ramos and Compean are Free

President Bush just commuted the sentences of former Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean.

See it here.

The decision is probably welcomed by many, but it falls short just as our government fell short in prosecuting Border Agents for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler. They should have been given a medal, and Mexico should have been told to take a hike when they approached the US Attorneys with charges.

This country is not free as long as the criminals are treated as victims, and the police are sent to prison for taking a stand. Sphere: Related Content

I believe in the 1st Amendment. Say whatever you want. If you're a moron, I may point that out...if I have time. :P
