"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." -- JP Curran, 1790

We have them RIGHT where we want them...

In the past few days, having gone through the 7 stages of grief I am coming out and ready to fight and hope you are too.

1. SHOCK & DENIAL - I can't believe this is happening? He can still pull this out, all of the ballots aren't in for OH, IN, VA, NC, FL, etc. Then came the concession speech.
2. PAIN & GUILT - How did this happen? Could I have done more?
3. ANGER & BARGAINING - Expletive, expletive, expletive.
4. "DEPRESSION", REFLECTION, LONELINESS - Quiet. Long car rides. sadness.
5. THE UPWARD TURN - Keep on keepin' on.
6. RECONSTRUCTION & WORKING THROUGH - How can I move forward? How can I change the future?
7. ACCEPTANCE & HOPE - He won. We lost. We are the opposition and need to embrace it. Its time to get up and fight!

Conservatives, it is time!! Time to fight for what we believe in. Time to rediscover ourselves and our Principles. Time to take a stand and oppose Liberalism. We will be respectful in transition of the government, but we are not friends.

We need to become conservative again. Not just in words, but in actions. We need to look back to Reagan, Goldwater, Lincoln, Thomas Paine for inspiration as we lower our shoulder and drive forward. We need to take back the Republican party from moderates and compromisers. They have confused Americans as to what Conservatism is. We are not fiscally irresponsible. We do not believe that Government is the answer to our problems. We do not subsidize failing ideas. We do not compromise our principles. We do not embrace weakness for a temporary peace.

It is time to get up! Accept our loses, lick the wounds, pick up our weapons and get back in the fight.

Make no mistake, we are out-numbered. Our conscription's are low. Our Generals untested or uncommitted. We need to rally around the flag and take the fight to the enemy. We need to defend our ground in 2010. We will likely lose more of it, but this is the long war. We need to change out leadership, rebuild the army, and take our fight into hostile territory.

Short-term it will be frustrating. The domination of Liberal ideas will not subside or go away easily. They will be cheered. They will celebrate. Meanwhile, we will be building!

Lets rebuild around our Principles. Its time for the failed Leadership of the past years to step aside. Become a foot soldier again or get out of the way. It is time to rebuild the infantry with young new conservative voices. It is time we look to the current warriors for our new leaders. More to come on this...

Most would believe that we are a Liberal nation because of this election. We are not! We are a country that values decency and truth. There are signs that Conservative still exists and will return. 55 million votes for McCain. CA Proposition 8. We need to rebuild our demographics and population around new ideas based on our principles. Southern Blacks, Hispanics, Asian-Americans all value stability and social conservatism. There is a social values fight within the Catholic community. We need to help our allies win. We need to embrace these groups with inspiration!

Barack's historic victory comes with great challenges. He has won by casting a wide net. He has set high expectations and set them broadly. As LJB would attest, winning with a large majority equates to an in-balance in demands. Barack will see demands from all of those he's courted in the election. The time for fancy talk, hope, and blame are over. They are coming hard with expectations in hand. They want delivery and want it now!! With the recent Republican dominance, the demand has been building and will explode in their faces! In order to satisfy expectations he will have to make some hard choice (finally). The House Dems will be pushing their agenda. The Senate Dems, Greens, Liberal Blacks, Pro-Choice, Welfare, Energy, Healthcare, and many others too.
His greatest fear should not be the right or the center. It should be the Liberal Left. Northern Radical Blacks in particular. If he doesn't give them a victory with his first actions in office, they will turn on him. If he chooses a moderate path, the Liberal Left will turn on him and turn on him early. If he chooses a liberal path, well that speeds our recovery or the opportunity for it. They have no more excuses. Its time for them to deliver. No Bush to blame. No Rep. party in congress to blame.

It is our opportunity to rebuild as they stumble over themselves trying prioritize and organize. We need to coalesce around our Principles and bring the Right Ideas and the Right Salesmen. Its not just about the best ideas, we need to be able to sell them to the public. Over the next few months/years, as voter open their eyes and learn more about Barack there will be many who will realize that he cannot meet the expectations he has set. We are primed to rebuild. We have only our Principles to stand on, which what we should always stand upon! We have them right where we want them.

Principles are worthless if you follow them only when its convenient.

Signing off...JCB

I leave you with a few quotes:

"Policies are many. Principles are few. Policies will change. Principles never do." -John C. Maxwell
"'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles to the death." -Thomas Paine
"We are in a fight for our principles and our first responsibility is to live by them." -George W. Bush
"An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot." -Thomas Paine
"Its easy to have principles when you're rich. Its important to have principles when you're poor." -Ray Kroc
"A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both." -Dwight Eisenhower Sphere: Related Content
