The US Navy successfully intercepted a missile launched from Hawaii as part of a missile defense test recently. The US Military and the Missile Defense Agency are getting better and better at hitting a bullet with a bullet. As N.Korea continues to try to develop long range strategic missiles, and Iran seeks nuclear tipped warheads, it's more and more important for us to be able to defend ourselves. Mutually Assured Destruction was a good policy for our dealings with the Soviet Union. Who wants to see thousands of ICBM's being thrown back at you when you throw them up? With insane dictators and Islamist Extremists Terrorist groups, MAD may not be enough.
