"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." -- JP Curran, 1790

Gestapo USA

At least one Congressman, Rep. Broun (R-GA), is sounding the alarm about President-elect Obama's ideas for a civilian national security force. Citing Obama's speech from earlier on the campaign trail, where he called for a civilian national security force, Rep. Broun says: "When he's proposing to have a national security force that's answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he's showing me signs of being Marxist." Broun asserts that the Nazis and the Soviets proposed the same things, just before banning gun ownership. Now Obama has said he favors "reasonable" gun laws, but under who's "reason?" Most Americans would like to think that we're above tyranny. With a 24/7 news cycle, who can get away with such things, right? Well, when the media is an unwitting accomplice (perhaps some of them more willing) to the liberal agenda, we have cause for concern. Well, I guess we can just wait and see what happens when Obama "rules" come January 20, 2009.

What exactly does he mean (see below)? He wasn't saying that we should use diplomacy over military action, which is understandable. He said "civilian national security force."

Rep. Broun may be jumping the gun with his fears of the Obama Administration, but can we honestly prove him wrong at this point?

Happy Veterans Day!
